What better way to kick off a student’s Friday other than playing some basketball with the principals? Good things happen to those who meet their reading goals! 🏀#2ndgradeRULES

After singing Mr. Robie “happy birthday”, Mrs. Breon’s kindergarten class went in for a group hug. Birthdays and School Principals’ Days are basically the same thing... right? 😂 #SchoolPrincipalsDay #appreciationpost

Mrs. Ross’s 1st grade class surprised Mr. Robie with the most epic sign that we’ve seen yet this year. We love the support from not only the parents of GR, but the students too. ☺️ #HappyFriday

Building a Positive Community

Grant Ragan embraces the Responsive Classroom approach to teaching. Responsive Classroom is a set of practices intended to create safe, joyful, and engaging classroom and school communities. The emphasis is on helping students develop their academic, social, and emotional skills in a learning environment that is developmentally responsive to their strengths and needs.  All staff operate from the core belief that in order to be successful in and out of school, students need to learn a set of social and emotional competencies – cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, and self-control – and a set of academic competencies – academic mindset, perseverance, learning strategies, and academic behaviors.
